Event technology platform Joyn acquires Arinex

One of Australia’s largest and longest-running professional conference organisers Arinex has been acquired by event technology platform Joyn.

The combined entity will be known as The Arinex Group and Joyn will rebrand to Arinex Live. The existing CEO of Arinex, Nicole Walker will become group CEO of the new company and will join the board, while Joyn’s co-founder and CEO, Jordan Walsh, will become group executive chairman.

“Arinex’ core mission has always been to architect inspiring experiences. To continue to fulfil our mission, the event industry requires significant innovation and that is the core reason we have combined forces with Joyn,” said Walker, who took over ownership of Arinex from its founder, Roslyn McLeod in 2021.

“It enables us to leverage the best-in-class technology that enhances the experience for all stakeholders and increases ongoing sponsor and delegate engagement.”

Rebranding from Delegate Connect less than a year ago, Joyn will continue to focus primarily on the association meetings market as it leverages the established Arinex brand to continue to sell its technology platform to organisers around the world.

“Since founding Joyn, our goal has been to enable the future of events,” said Walsh.

“Creating unique in-person experiences, combined with an engaging digital environment is incredibly important. The Arinex business brings invaluable event experience and a global brand and reputation that we are excited to continue to build on into the future.”

Walsh first entered the events industry back in 2011, as founder and managing director of Australian Green Clean in Adelaide.

The Arinex Group has plans to introduce machine learning and artificial intelligence into its products for the business events industry later this year.
